Advertising spend falls less than expected

Bloomberg reports that U.S. advertising spending may fall 1.3 percent next year, less than previously forecast, as the economy and industrial production improve, according to research firm Magna Global.

Ad spending will drop to $159 billion in 2010, the New York-based company said today in an e-mailed statement. In July, Magna predicted a 2.1 percent decline.
