A first glance at interactive billboards?

Remember the Minority Report? In this Steven Spielberg movie the eyes of Tom Cruise are scanned in a mall to serve up personalised advertising on digital billboards.


We may not be quite there yet but Castrol has made a small step with their oilcam billboards in London. A camera films the licenseplate of cars and instantly gives advice on the type of oil that is appropriate for the make of the car. Not quite like in the movies but surely a first step. With Irisscan technology in use on airports today we may just be on our way to the vision in Minority report
