Wired Magazine reports that the Apple iPad already accounts for 26 percent of mobile devices accessing the magazines website. The iPad growth has cannibalized on the share of people coming to Wired with an iPhone or iPod. The overall share of mobile devices in total traffic remains low.
“Overall, mobile devices account for between 2.3 percent and 3.5 percent of our traffic. For April 3 to 19, iPad users represented 0.91 percent of total site traffic. For the past year, the vast majority of mobile visitors to Wiredhave been using the iPhone. Before April, about 10 percent were using the iPod Touch, and 15 percent to 18 percent other devices, led by the Motorola Droid (with 5 percent to 7 percent of mobile traffic).
