Alamy to launch 24/7 newsfeed

Following right after their announcements about the new website of which we just posted the video’s here’s another one from Alamy. From the creative focus of the new website this one goes right to the other end of the spectrum as they are announcing a 24/7 newsfeed.

PRESS RELEASE

Alamy has announced the release of a 24/7 news feed that will go live in May. The images will cover breaking news and events from Alamy’s international network of editorial photographers. It will launch as a beta version while the company finalises its designs for a major product release later in the year.

The company has been recruiting photo journalists in the build-up for the launch, and interested photographers wishing to join the scheme can apply online.

Alamy CEO James West said: “Our news feed represents a ray of hope for photo journalists who are facing a reduction in the number of outlets available to them at this time of continuing industry consolidation. Alamy does business with all the major news media organisations and this new service strengthens our commitment to provide everything for the picture buyer.”
