PRESS RELEASE

Alamy has released its news service beta providing news, sport and entertainment photos from its international network of editorial photographers.

To date, more than 250 photojournalists have signed up for the news service. The collection will be refreshed every 10 minutes and the company is working on ways to speed this up for a major news product release later in the year.

Alan Capel, Alamy’s Head of Content is excited by the positive response from contributors. He said: “We’ve had a great reaction from our contributor community and we’re confident that this will quickly become a world-class news service.”

The company has also been preparing for a significant surge in interest from photographers following this launch by upgrading its IT capacity in major cities.
