Twitpic launches labs to experiment with pictures

Twitpic, the application that lets users post images on Twitter has launched Twitpic labs. From the blog:

TwitPic Labs is a place for us to experiment and to show off interesting side-projects we have been working on. TwitPic was made to be clean, simple, and easy to use, which led to the creation of TwitPic Labs in order to maintain these values for the main part of the site while adding extra functionality.

For example, TwitPic Labs now includes a way to take a photo and automatically make it your Twitter profile image. And TwitPic Gallery lets you browse photos taken by any user in a gallery-like format as opposed to within a timeline.
