A company called Paperg has developed a new advertising tool for small businesses. The company automates ad online ad creation This allows small business to safe costs when advertising online. The company was founded in 2007 by students. They wanted to streamline the way local businesses could advertise on online publications.
The way the company does this is with a tool called flyerboard. This is the digital equivalent of a physical bulletin board, or corkboard. The flyerboard interface allows businesses to combine a number of elements onto templates and then post the finished ad, together with those of others on the board of local online publications. The site now supports over 100 local publications of major publishers.
Images play an important role in the flyerboard ads. Users can upload any file they want including ‘scans of posters, prints and handouts’. While this provides an opportunity for photography companies it also seems important to educate users of the tool on copyright, model releases and other information regarding the use of images.
