In this 3 minutes Adweek video Cindy Gallop calls for a re-invention of the advertising industry. And there are some simililarities to our own picture business. Gallop says that a focus on clients has led to a lack of self evaluation and re-invention. In the case of the picture business a focus on pricing models, internal competition and systems may have had a similiar effect and limited time being left for innovation.
She also adresses the fact that clients are no longer willing to pay for content. In fact, some large advertisers are now asking for payment for pitches, this certainly rings true for developments in the pictuire business.
She calls for an industry to bring back the magic. How can the picture business bring back the magic?
